In October 2019 we had a guided tour to the Mechanical Music Museum in Arraiados (Pinhal Novo, Palmela). It’s a very interesting museum, with over 600 objects in display, among automatons, phonographs, bells, unusual music boxes, and gramophones, from the private collection of Luís Cangueiro.
This museum surprised and wondered us all. Among the displayed pieces, many of them were played, allowing us to see and hear the evolution of these instruments over the different periods. The tour was followed by a pleasant lunch at the Lisboa à Vista restaurant, placed in an old river boat (cacilheiro).
