Tea at the Literary Guild with Dr. Pedro Farto e Abreu

On 14 October, a very interesting meeting was held at the Literary Guild with Dr. Pedro Farto e Abreu, an interventional cardiologist who has been head of the Interventional Cardiology Unit at Fernando da Fonseca Hospital since 1996. He spoke to us about the Stent Save a Life project, of which he was the national coordinator, cardiovascular diseases, particularly in the treatment of ischaemic heart disease, alerting us both to the symptoms of heart attack and to the most appropriate way to proceed in such a case, so that the patient can be transported to the right hospital, given that most hospitals do not have interventional cardiology and precious time is lost. He also addressed the topic of Artificial Intelligence applied to cardiac catheterisation procedures.

Then, as usual, a tea party was held.
