As part of our twinning with the Lyceum Club of Troyes, we welcomed 12 members of that club between 20 and 23 September. They were a very friendly and entertaining group who provided us with a few days of pleasant and friendly company, which all participants remember fondly.
It was a pleasure for the Lyceum Club of Lisbon to welcome the lycéennes from the Troyes Club. The Board organised a programme that our counterparts greatly enjoyed, which began on the 20th with a visit to Évora.

This was followed by a visit to the Cathedral and the Museum of Sacred Art.

After visiting the Museum of Sacred Art, take a break in its garden…

We then proceeded to visit the University of Évora, at the Jesuit College of the Holy Spirit.

The lecture halls are lined with panels decorated with 18th-century Baroque tiles depicting the subjects (mathematics, physics, philosophy, fine arts, etc.) that were taught in each room.

In the afternoon, we visited the Church of Saint Francis and the Chapel of Bones.

We ended our visit to Évora at Giraldo Square, before returning to Lisbon.

We started Sunday with a visit to the Jerónimos Monastery in Lisbon.

After lunch, we visited the Royal Treasury Museum, ending the day with a lively dinner in the Maria Keil room at Cervejaria da Trindade.

On Monday morning, it was time to visit the Palace of Queluz, followed by lunch at the Magalhães Palace.

Below are several photos of the lunch at Magalhães Palace.

In the evening, a dinner was held at the Grémio Literário, at which the Presidents of the Troyes and Lisbon Clubs gave speeches.

On the last day, there was a guided tour of Casa do Alentejo, followed by a typical Alentejo lunch. It was time to say goodbye to the lycéennes from the Troyes Club, whom we will miss greatly. The lycéennes from the Lisbon Club who attended this lunch stayed on for some delicious sweets.
