Women’s Day 2024
On 8 March, an International Women’s Day tea party was held at the Avenida Palace Hotel. We had the presence of Ambassador Maria Otília Medina, who spoke to us about her personal and professional life. She also expressed her thoughts on the significance of commemorating this date.

As usual in February, the Lyceum Club’s 22nd anniversary lunch was held in a pleasant atmosphere at Darwin’s Café.
Debate on ‘The Years’ by Annie Ernaux
February began with a debate at CMN on the book ‘The Years’, by writer Annie Ernaux, followed by tea. This writer, born in 1940, was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2022, becoming the first French woman to receive this distinction.
January 2024
In the New Year, January 2024, the Club began its activities by watching the Nutcracker ballet at the Coliseu dos Recreios. Afterwards, on the 17th, there was a gathering at the Clube Militar Naval, followed by tea as usual.
Christmas lunch 2023
On 15 December, the traditional Christmas lunch was held, at Casa do Alentejo, which this year celebrated its 100th anniversary.
